Patronage to OneSky by Executive Committee

Executive Committee of the Foundation paid a visit to P. C. Lee OneSky Global Centre for Early Childhood Development to learn more about their support services that would help meeting the unmet demand for early childhood care and education.

Chairman Mr. Peter Cheng, Governors Mr. Patrick Tsang and Mr. Koo Tong-Fat conducted a preliminary review of the proposed project’s services, facilities and environment as part of the Foundation’s approval process on worthwhile causes.

Located in Sham Shui Po, the centre provides support services for disadvantaged children aged between 0 to 6 and their families in the district, allowing infants and young children to learn through play, their parents and caregivers to learn parenting, and to connect with families and the communities.

Hong Kong’s wealth gap reaches ‘tipping point’ under Covid as unemployment rises among poor, Oxfam says

The pandemic has worsened Hong Kong’s wealth gap, with the city’s poorest making 47 times less than its richest residents, Oxfam Hong Kong has said. In the pre-Covid era, the highest earners made 34.3 times more.

Record number of people gave to charity globally in 2021

A record number of people donated money to charities or assisted strangers in 2021 after three-year long reduction in 2018, according to the World Giving Index 2022.

At the other end of the spectrum, half of the countries or regions which declined the most in 2021 included Hong Kong, down by 13 percentage points.
