A private family foundation established by Dr. Cheng Yu-Tung and his family in 2012, Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation (the Foundation) is committed to providing opportunities and resources for the underprivileged, empowering individuals and accumulating social capital for sustainable social development.

 

Our Key Focus Areas

The Foundation funds charitable projects in four key areas, including education, community, healthcare and emergency relief. By collaborating with and making grants to non-profit organisations, academic institutions and other family foundations, the Foundation provides timely assistance to those in need.

 

Our Beginning

The Foundation was first named in a charitable project rolled out in 2008 before it was officially inaugurated in Hong Kong in 2012. Its funding comes from Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited, a private investment holding company of the Cheng family.

Standing in front of the Cheng family’s ancestral home in Lunjiao of Shunde District, Guangdong Province in mainland China is a pond. The ripples inside is a symbol of Dr. Cheng Yu-Tung's spirit of giving and his everlasting commitment to the society. The legacy in family philanthropy is passed over from one generation to another.

Behind Philanthropy

The spirit of philanthropy installed by the Founder the late Dr. Cheng Yu-Tung is passed on from generation to generation. Nowadays, the private family foundation is chaired by Mr. Peter Cheng Kar-Shing and overseen by the Executive Committee.
