Sports TRYiumph Programme

The Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation (the Foundation) always takes an eager interest in promoting educational equality. In reality, the differences in the level of participation in extracurricular activities beyond mainstream education have a significant impact on children’s development. According to surveys, children and youth from grassroots families are always limited by their financial situation in terms of the variety and continuity in joining extracurricular activities, which directly hinders their opportunities in developing their potentials, character and horizons in the growth phase. Moreover, physically challenged children are generally prevented from playing sports due to their physical disabilities.

In view of this, the Foundation has partnered with the InspiringHK Sports Foundation to provide long-term sports training classes for 90 children and youths from low-income families and 48 physically challenged children and youth, helping them develop regular exercise habits and positive values. A wide range of sports programmes are offered, which include taekwondo, shuttlecock, rope skipping, K-Pop, dancing, soccer, athletics, darts and more. Students can also develop teamwork skills and cultivate perseverance through assessments, competitions and performances.

The programme also organises community sports activities on a regular basis to promote inclusiveness through sports which is a universal language, connecting different classes and groups of people with disabilities.
