Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation allocates funds to the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society for the launch of a Cancer Drugs Subsidy Programme in 2018, with subsidies for low-income patients fall outside the scope of the Samaritan Fund and the Community Care Fund to purchase cancer drugs that are not included in the Hospital Authority Drug Formulary. This programme allows patients with financial hardships to continue receiving medical treatment.

The six public hospitals participating in the programme are Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, Queen Mary Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital (including United Christian Hospital), Princess Margaret Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and Tuen Mun Hospital.

Applicants must be referred by medical social workers and approved by the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society. In a joint effort to help patients through tough times, Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation subsidises patients to purchase self-financed cancer drugs while pharmaceutical companies provide free drugs.
